and Book Readings by Local Authors
The NM Chapter sponsored the 20 th Anniversary of National Day of the Cowboy with a day long event that took place Saturday July 27 that went from 11am – 5pm at Sandoval County’s El Zocalo Event Center in Bernalillo, NM, The event was free to the public. IWMA featured artists included Cowboy Poets Bernard Carr, Dr. Ted Coffman, and PJ Ross as well as musicians The Peralta Playboys from Peralta, NM, Jerry Lee from Milan, NM, Steve Cormier from Sandia Park, NM, They opened up for the headlining act, Carlos Washington’s Steel Horse Swing. Included with multiple music award winner Carlos Washington in Steel Horse Swing were award winning musicians Scott Tonelson on acoustic guitar and Ernie Martinez on pedal steel. The event also had arts and crafts vendors and food trucks.
